Dissolution behavior of silica in molten CaO–SiO <sub>2</sub> –Fe <sub>2</sub> O <sub>3</sub> –MgO–MnO slag

The modification of basic oxygen furnace (BOF) slag by adding silica can improve the properties BOF for applications in cement industry. rapid dissolution is essential to hot modification. In this work, behavior molten CaO-SiO2-Fe2O3-MgO-MnO system as synthetic was investigated using traditional rotating cylinder technique. Effects rotation speed, temperature, immersion time, and basicity on were studied. Scanning electron microscopy equipped with energy dispersive spectrometer (SEM-EDS) FactSage simulations employed reveal mechanism. It found that rod affected both thermodynamic driving force viscosity. rate increased increasing speed but first then decreased when decreasing from 2.5 1.5. A linear correlation between logarithm periphery velocity a slope 0.44 observed, indicating mass transfer within boundary layer determining step. direct way during slag.
